Commission Structure of DreamHost Rewards Program
DreamHost rewards program has two levels of referrals. You get one time $97 for referring a customer to DreamHost. If any of your customers refers new customer to DreamHost, you also paid $5 for that customer.
DreamHost also has another commission structure. You get recurring 10% of your direct referrals as long as that customer stays with DreamHost. You also get recurring 5% for the second level referrals.
There is no doubt that one time payment scheme is much better than recurring payment scheme.
Promote DreamHost Using Coupons
DreamHost offers coupons to their affiliates. Each affiliate has a unique coupon. Affiliates can pass a discount to their customers through the coupon. If any of the person sign up using your created coupon, then that referral is count under you and you are paid for referring that customer.
Since you have created coupon and given discount to your customer, you are not paid full $97 for referring that customer. You are paid ($97-discount of coupon) for referring that customer.
Let’s take an example. You have created a coupon which gives discount of $50. If any person sign up using your coupon, you will be paid $47($97-$50) for referring that customer.
How Much Discount Should You Offer?
Let’s be frank here. We as an affiliate are here to make money. While there are many coupon codes available on the Internet which offer $97 discount, we can’t offer $97 discount. If we do, we can’t make a single dime for referring that customer.
I usually prefer to give $50 discount to my referrals. You should try different coupon codes with your web traffic. You might get more EPC using $67 discount coupon or $87 discount coupon.
